18th century buffet from the La Haute-Bretagne region of France. A single-drawer decorated with two mask face wooden pulls sits above two doors with a key and lock. Each door has shaped raised panels enhanced by carved griffins. This piece is made of cherry wood with a spectacular patina. The sides are intricately carved panels. The doors open to reveal a shelf. The front corner posts are carved to match the center carving of the doors. The Buffet rests upon scroll cabriole legs, circa 1790-1810.
