18th Century Painted Commode From Europe
A posh Continental painted commode from the late 18th century, having three drawers (each with key and functional locks) which are presented with stencil patterns and painted countrysides. Each scene depicting people in a local activity. On either side of the drawers are half round and turned columns. The piece rest upon bun feet. The top is also stenciled with a bellflower boarder surrounding a garden scene and ruins with man and lady. This has had a refresh of paint but the chest is 18th century.
