Louis XV Style Walnut Bibliotech from the 19th Century
This elegant late 19th century walnut bibliotech has a break front. There are three glass doors with glass shelves and a mirror back. The interior is oak-lined with lights.The side doors stand out with raised panels and beveled glass surrounded by thick frame molding that has a scalloped shell in the crest. This piece is adorned with carvings throughout, including diamond shape rosettes that appear on the cornice and throughout the rest of the piece. The bibliotech is also accented throughout by diaper marquetry carvings. Carved acanthus leaves appear on the knees of the cabriole legs. This piece is stamped on the back L.André from Angers, France. C. 1890.
