Dutch Louis XVI Mahogany Cabinet

This is an impressive linen press cabinet. It consists of two beautiful doors on the front with raised oval panel doors and four carvings fitted to make a rectangular panel. The molding covering the separation is wood and hand-carved. Open the doors to reveal shelves and four drawers, and the bottom two have folding tray pullouts. Above the doors are two finials, one in each corner. In the center is a carved pediment with finial giving an elegant look. The top section has reeded columns and angled corners. This is resting on a three drawer base (nice hardware) with shaped corners, heavy moldings, scrolled carvings, flamed mahogany and resting on tapered and reeded feet. Very good quality of Dutch furniture.

18th Century Italian Cabinet from the Emilia-Romagna Region. Wonderful walnut with the character of Italian craftsmanship. Each panel section is intricately carved into the wood. Exquisite and intense moldings exist. There is a pull out slide and fitted with two drawers. The sides are angled only to reveal doors opening to cabinets top and bottom. Notice the strap lock structure. There is no way to describe except “look at it!”

Antique Walnut French Renaissance Cabinet

Here is an impactful french renaissance walnut cabinet with two doors and two drawers. Each door panel is recess with raised carvings of foliage and centered with the grotesque mask (ward off evil spirits), each panel framed by a nice moulding. The two drawers have a complimentary foliage carving with a carved wooden cartouche escutcheon. Along the sides of the front are grand turned twist columns. Very detail and strong moldings separate the visual sections of the piece. The top is presented with a fine renaissance carved and pierced carvings flanking the center cartouche having a raised carved coat of arms. The sides are raised panels and detailed with carved panels on the top. The cabinet rest upon carved mask feet. There are three shelves behind the two doors which each shelf is adjustable providing ample storage. The key is present. Circa date 1870. Purchased in France.

A handsome William and Mary style cabinet on stand with oyster burl yew wood inlay. This has a rich oily or darker appearance. There are two doors opening to a shelf.  The doors are banded with the oyster burl and below are two drawers. The top rest upon an interesting spiral turned legs which are bold and connected by a thinner shaped stretcher. This rest upon bun feet. C.1880-1890.

Vintage Bench-Made English Linen Press

Here is a fine vintage bench-made English linen press. There are two doors which swing all the way to the side on a jack-knife hinge. Each door has two raised panels with burl walnut featured. These doors open to reveal three adjustable shelves. The top of the press has a detailed broken arch pediment, and arched on each side too. Below the cabinet there is a writing slide and a 2 over 2 drawer configuration with burl walnut front and banding. The lower drawer has a concave starburst inlay. The press rest upon four ogee bracket feet. This piece was made in England and sold here in USA, then purchased back from the client. Very high quality piece!

Double chest of walnut natural wood with four doors and two drawers decorated with geometric patterns. A projecting cornice with thick moldings, repeated at the mid-section and the base, supported by large bun feet. Door panels are carved in diamond point. All four corner are cut with strong twist designs and the center is split by a repeating twist. Both top and bottom sections are fitted with shelves. I can only tell you but the patina which adorns this piece is amazing. The waxy luxurious walnut. C.1680-1740

A superb Italian cabinet having two doors and three drawers in the base, with a step back section having three drawers, above the step back the wonderful arched top and display shelf. The beauty to me is the raised panel doors withelegant formation of trim pieces. The patina is awe-inspiring. The grace of the top pediment shape meeting the center scrolled arches and centered by a shell carving. This piece rest upon bun feet. The top section is lined with panels wrapped by burlap material. Not original to the piece and can be removed.

Henri II Walnut Hunting Lodge Cabinet

This cabinet is an archetype model of hunting lodge furniture. The wood and detail of the carvings exceed the quality that’s typically associated with hunting lodge style furniture. This piece is topped with a coat of arms which is surrounded by two griffons. The back panel is decorated with a code of arms in the center of a festoon carvings above a shelf. Under the shelf, the back panel has carvings of a lady mask, leaf and vines, and two dolphin heads. The shelf supports also have dolphin head carvings. The bottom of the piece has gadrooned moulding, two drawers above two raised cartouche centered cabinets, one with a boar’s head carving and one with a goat’s head carving. The posts have exquisitely detailed carvings of a ram’s head, mane, and hoofed feet at the bottom. The piece rest upon a plinth base and decorated with carved moldings. Circa 1860-1870
