Sheraton Mahogany Inlaid Sideboard
19th C. Sheraton mahogany inlaid sideboard with a shaped front. This piece has incredible inlay details. Multiple woods used like satinwood, tulipwood, ebony, olive wood and mahogany. Techniques of inlays herringbone on the top with banding, front has a larger herringbone string inlay, quarter fan inlays, oval shell inlay, single string inlays of satinwood and a small checkered sting inlay. The fronts of the legs are inlaid with a satinwood string inlay. The storage consist of a center oak lined drawer, deep well drawer (facing-left) and on the right cabinet storage. This piece has a wonderful french polish giving depth to the figured mahogany. Beautiful patina. There are solid mahogany sides and resting on tapered spade style feet. C. 1870-1880.
